Lots of catching up with you

January 22, 2015 by CJ Shiloh Leave a Comment

If you haven’t been receiving our newsletters, or keeping up with us on social media, it would appear that not much has been happening since renovations on our new clinic space last September…. but au contraire!

OctOctIn our October newsletter we announced the exciting news that we moved into our new clinic at Annapolis Children’s Therapy Center. We got the word out about the amazing Sensory Friendly Concert that happened on October 5th, and lots of other exciting updates.

novNovember’s newsletter was also very exciting. CJ’s marathon fundraising event was a huge success, and she presented at AMTA national conference, “Presuming Competence in our Clients“.

decIn December we sent out a holiday well wishes to our clients, fans, family and friends, and an announcement about our Sensory Friendly Recital that happened on Dec. 6th (and was a huge success!)

We also talked about our opportunity to be a part of an exciting new autism research study on motor differences, through Colorado State University.

janIn the January newsletter we just sent out last week, we had lots more exciting news about two community-based programs we are now launching. One is with Arc of Central Chesapeake and taking place in Annapolis at Maryland Hall.  The other is with Hussman Institute for Autism and taking place near Baltimore and UMBC campus.

As you can see, we’re pretty thrilled and so honored to serve families in our community through music therapy.

Now that I (CJ) am caught up on this blog, it’s time for our first annual #MTadvocacy post. Stay tuned!
And ps, I blog more frequently at The Musical Autist, so make sure to check that out. And if I begin to neglect this blog again, please remind me! 😉

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas, Telehealth-sty Wishing you a very Merry Christmas, Telehealth-style!🎁

We know the holiday "season" extends FAR beyond December, and honor the many holidays that our clients and their communities celebrate throughout the year. One of the wonderful things about Telehealth has been the ability to take part in honoring these celebrations when requested - like this sweet holiday music lesson party on the last day of Naomi's internship.

Rhythm rockstar Aaron, Kerry, Naomi, and our newest intern Mikaila (stay tuned to meet her in January!) wore silly Christmas shirts, played with virtual backgrounds, and sang all the holiday songs together.

It was an hour filled with warmth and love via Zoom, and we wish the same for you and yours today and every day! ❤️💚

We LOVE using Zoom backgrounds to add a little something extra to our Telehealth sessions at AMT! They're lovely for facilitating conversation, play, and creating more immersive therapeutic experiences.

PS: There's still time to snag holiday gift certificates for virtual music lessons, adapted lessons, and music therapy sessions in sets of 2, 3, or more.
