Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) is a research-based system of 20 standardized clinical techniques for sensorimotor training, speech and language and cognitive training (Academy of Neurologic Music Therapy, 2017). The Robert K. Unkefer Academy for Neurologic Music Therapy is a 30-hour training course that provides therapists with advanced clinical training and scientific knowledge in the field of NMT. In order to hold the credential of Neurologic Music Therapist (NMT), an individual must be a board certified music therapist who has completed the introductory NMT Training Institute or advanced NMT Fellowship training, which must be renewed every 3-5 years.
